Evening Update - January 8, 2015

1 Samuel 2:2
"There is no one holy like the Lord; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God."

We praise God for a stable and productive day. Oh, how he gives us his strength to weather the ups and downs of this journey! There is no Rock like our God.

Thank you for laying our burdens at the foot of the Cross with us. Over the last 24 hours we have seen marked improvement, which is so encouraging. Isaiah was communicative and able to answer simple questions. He worked on sitting up in bed and even stood for the briefest of moments. He also took a wheelchair ride through the hospital halls, a practice which helps to strengthen his neck muscles and work on posture as well as orient him to his surroundings. Join us in claiming peace and clarity for Isaiah's mind.

His blood work continues to be good, the primary concern is his diet and nutrition. Physically his ability to swallow is working just fine, the willingness is the trouble. You can pray for strength and courage for Isaiah to face the possibility of some pain while swallowing and to fight through the discomfort of this part of his healing in order to make greater progress. He is receiving nutrition and lipids via an IV but all other IV meds have been phased out. Pain management is now done orally. We continue to pray for his body to wash out the meds that were serving so many important purposes for a time but are no longer needed in his system.

The Lord is being glorified through this little boy's story. Praise be to God! Join us in praying for a peaceful and restful night for all. Good night.
