Hebrews 11:1
"Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen."
Isaiah has had some symptoms of an urinary tract infection, which is fairly common after a catheter comes out. He is already on an antibiotic to combat this possibility, but we will be switching antibiotics to keep things as effective as possible. The preliminary test shows no real bacteria present but it will be sent to culture for a few days. He doesn't have a fever, which is a good sign. He was up quite a bit during the night though so today was a low key, sleepy day. You can pray with us that this would not turn into a full blown infection and that his kidney, especially, would be protected from any further onslaught of sickness.
Mostly we are getting back to the real world, slowly. Isaiah got out in the car yesterday and hopefully out for a walk soon. Rest and downtime are still necessary but he is doing so well. He has been anxious about anything that might hurt, removing a band-aid, clipping his nails. He is definitely aware of his kidney injury and describes it as being like a rock inside. Thankfully, he doesn't have notable pain except on a rare occasion. He's got a lot going through his little mind most evenings as well, death, pain, etc. You can pray with us for wisdom in helping him process the things that he experienced, both what he remembers and what he doesn't. You can pray for peace of mind for him each evening as that is when his mind is especially stirred. We are thankful for each new day and that healing is happening each moment. We are thankful for that ways that this is teaching us more about living a life of faith and being fully surrendered to the Lord.
We have two previously scheduled, follow-up appointments in the Cities tomorrow. Further steps down the road to full recovery. Thanks for being here.
We continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers each day! The Brody Familt
