Morning Update - January 6, 2015

Evan, Steve's brother, is happy to report it was a very quiet and peaceful night.  Praise God for the right balance of medication and visible progress in healing!  Steve and Anna also said they had the best night of sleep they've had for over a week.  Psalms 121 begins "I lift my eyes up - where does my help come from?..."

The plan for the day is to lower some settings on the vent and see how Isaiah responds.  His oxygen saturation has remained good over the last 24+ hours giving all reason to believe we can make further incremental changes.  One specific way to pray this morning is regarding his hemoglobin level.  It dropped slightly after responding beautifully to the blood transfusion.  They will recheck in a little while.  We are praying for it to remain stable or increase so no further imagining or new questions are stirred.

The reality is that, though unlikely, there are still some big hurdles out there that could occur.  Many of the doctors want us to understand the possibilities so we aren't blind-sided should something occur, but it is difficult to not dwell on those possibilities.  Satan wants nothing more than to steal our peace.  We are so thankful that many huge hurdles have already been avoided and ruled out.  Steady progress is being made, certainly not in a straight line but jagged, step by step progress back up a really huge hill.  (Remember, this story started at the bottom of that hill.)

Thank you for coming along side us as we make our way.
