Praise for a good day! We rejoice for a successful extubation this afternoon. You can continue to pray that Isaiah's lungs would grow stronger with each breath and that nothing would crop up to hinder the progress that has been made today. He even blew bubbles to keep his lungs aerated. Such a blessing to have him awake and interactive!
Isaiah's digestive system has woken up and then some; the feeding tube was actually vomited up, so pray Isaiah will gain an appetite within the next couple of days to avoid having one put back in.
Now we continue the process of weening off sedation drugs and finding a different and new normal. You can continue to pray for healing of his kidney, strong lungs that breath well, easy transition off meds, returned appetite, and normal working digestive system. Additionally, Anna and Steve will now tag team overnights with Isaiah. Pray that they are able to find a rhythm that allows for rest and rejuvenation for each of them.
The respiratory therapist who extubated him said to Anna, "You have one brave boy." Don't we know it! One brave boy and one really big God!
Praise to our wonderful God who knows our hearts and hears out prayers!
