A restless night in Isaiah's room but Anna and Steve were able to get some sleep until 4 AM. As I sat in Isaiah's room in the wee hours I was asking God to speak to any prayer warriors that were also awake. We know he did. Thank you for praying.
Overnight we were struggling with low heart rates while also dealing with high blood pressure. This was determined to be caused by his renal injury and not medications. As a result we was put on a blood pressure medication which did exactly what we hoped - raised his heart rate and lowered his blood pressure. Praise God!
We have a new team on in the PICU with the start of a new week so we are adjusting to new personalities and getting everyone caught up. The care continues to be incredible. We are so thankful for their willingness to listen to us and answer our questions.
The "plan" for the day is to make some changes to sedation meds. Additionally we will be moving towards putting in an NJ tube, which will deliver nutrition directly to his intestines, hopefully stimulating the bowels and providing for his overall health by keeping the gut flora active. We hope to lower settings on the vent as his body allows. This will be slow.
We are praying for a quiet day and have no reason to believe this won't be true.
Thank you for partnering with us.
We are so missing "our Isaiah"! Room 208 is sending hugs and high fives and "missing you" words. Hope you can hear us and feel our hugs:) In our bible lesson today, we were reminded that Jesus has almighty power to heal our body and our soul.

Many thoughts and prayers directed your way from Central Illinois Isaiah. I've never met you, but knowing your Dad you have more than enough fight inside you to Win this battle. I'll continue to pray for a swift victory to this fight. Hang in there Steve, all of us are thinking about you and your family. Stay strong my man.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts and prayers are with you all. Praying that God heals Isaiah and gives him the strength needed to get through this and on the road to recovery. May God hold your spirits high as with Him and through Him all things are possible.
