Today's Update - January 11, 2015

I apologize for not getting something posted this morning but, to be honest, there wasn't much to say!  Isn't that amazing?!

As I (Chloe, Anna's sister) stood in church this morning, the first time back since Isaiah's accident, I found that as I encountered singing worship to God, proclaiming His mighty power, I could not even sing.  Tears just came.  The reality of who God is and what he has done is so raw and so intimate today.

From "The Stand" by Hillsong United

I'll stand
With arms high and heart abandoned
In awe of the one who gave it all
I'll stand
My soul Lord to you surrendered
All I am is yours

and "Strong God" by Meredith Andrews

Sing out lift your voice and cry out
Awesome is our strong God mighty is our God
Sing out raise your hands and shout out
Awesome is our strong God mighty is our God

It is looking very likely that Isaiah may be discharged on Tuesday!  Tomorrow will be filled with discussions and doctor visits planning his discharge.  We are continually working with physical therapy to build his strength and master the skills necessary to be at home.  He is eating so well and will have the last of his IVs removed tomorrow when he finishes fluids.  All remaining medications will be given orally.  He was enjoying building Legos, coloring, watching football, and keeping track of the score today.  This road has been longer and less direct that we ever imagined coming in two weeks ago but to be at this place today is beyond measure.  Sing out, raise your hands and shout out, awesome is our strong God, mighty is our God!

(P.S. I updated the picture of Isaiah on the side bar to show you his wonderful, smiling face from this evening.)
