Today's Update - January 12, 2015

Psalm 91:1-2

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

Today was another great day.  Isaiah slept almost 12 hours last night!  He enjoyed playing catch with daddy during physical therapy.  He is eating and drinking enough to not be hooked up to anything.  Plans for discharge tomorrow are in the works!  Isaiah will go home with his catheter; the goal being to keep pressure off his kidney as long as possible.  He will remain on low activity for at least another month once returning home and he will be back for outpatient surgery to remove his stent in another 6-8 weeks or so.

It is so thrilling to be at this point.  Certainly the transition to care at home will have it's challenges so we appreciate you praying with us now to that end.  We praise God for the wonderful support systems we have, especially through prayer, but also family and friends in close proximity.   Additionally, Isaiah will be and has been feeling better all the time.  The prescription of "low activity" will eventually be frustrating and we appreciate your prayers as we continue to navigate the healing process from a different angle--for continued patience and wisdom, in finding the new balance between the demands of home life and the continued needs of Isaiah's healing, and navigating the fears of getting "back to normal" but not doing too much.  We rest in the shelter of the Most High.  We have all we need for whatever may come because God is faithful.
